CURLFORMER-FABULOUS CURLZZ!!

I decided to try curl formers.
All i used was a conditioner and nothing but a conditioner. No holding product whatsoever!!! I was skeptical at first and was really convinced it was going to be a failure. But i was determined to fail and post it proudly on my wall.
Well, after tossing and turning the whole night through, i was wrong. But before i go any further please permit me to lament. Sleeping in curl formers is no child's play. I had a horrible night and someone will have to pay me to sleep in them again. Never ever again. Hooded dryer on cool and loads of heat protectant!!!!
But i loved the curls soo much.

I started on really wet hair. I began from the nape of my neck and worked up wards ). The trick is to start with slightly bigger chunks of hair at the nape and fill in the back and work forward (otherwise you will run out of curl formers unless you have more than 40 pieces as i had and secondly it made my progress easy and fast). I first passed the hook through a curl former then gently twisted my roots before pulling the hair through it (I hope this is understandable, if not kindly leave me a comment in the comment section below). The hook can be a bit tricky but please be careful before you rip all your hair out. It gets easy after you get the hang of it.

Extra wide and long curl formers (40 pieces)

I tried this conditioner as a leave-in and i kid you not, it left my hair really soft.

Freshly washed hair

I used all 40 pieces of the curlformers

The trick is to start with slightly bigger chunks at the nape of the neck

And fill the back as you work your way to the front (well this was my technique)

It was really a horrible experience sleeping in the curl formers but after seeing my curlzzz it made it a tiny bit worth it.

At this point i was going crazy shaking my head around

This picture is everything to me. Ohh my edgessss!!!

Sunday updo

Badder than bad curls

Tried to imitate a curly fro. It was just a bit too much!!

Hmm will i try this again? Yes but only if someone provides me with a hooded dryer and a ton of heat protectant y'all!!
My curls lasted 5 days after continuous pineappling at night. For a longer lasting hold and well defined curls i suggest you apply a holding product (eg, gel) of your choice.
Patience is key.
If you take the curl formers out before they get a chance to properly dry you will end up with a ball of frizzy hair but on the other hand if you endure and allow them to really dry, great curlzzzz will be your only friend.

Disclaimer: No two heads of hair are the same and so what worked for me may not produce the same results for you. Use what works best for you.

Later Chicas.

  1. Goodness I love natural hair...Our hair is just gorgeous. I really don't get it when people diss our hair in its natural state
