My hair and I have been missing in action for a minute now. Three
reasons.
LIFE.
SCHOOL WORK.
LAZINESS.
Blow-dried and ready for a weave |
Two months ago I decided to do something different to my
hair. We natural girls do get tired of manipulating our hair sometimes. I got
to that stage and decided to do a prolonged protective style. I choose to
install a weave. The day before, I protein deep conditioned my hair.
Now, I
can’t stress enough how important it is to do a protein treatment whenever you
intend to put your hair in protective styles that will prevent you from totally
manipulating your hair for a month or more. This protein treatment will fortify
your hair whiles in this dormant protective style state and will prevent
unnecessary loss of hair during take-down of whichever style it is you
installed.
After my protein treatment and washing, I applied a leave-in
conditioner, a heat protectant and blow dried my hair for easy parting during
the installation.
Now, I chose to blow dry but there are other options you
could use. You can Bantu knot your hair overnight to stretch it if it is long
enough. Or flat twist, braid or my all-time favorite, the African braiding
method/technique which our mothers used to do (and some still do).
This is the weave i installed. I really liked it and totally rocked it |
After the two month mark I took down my weave and this
picture speaks volumes. This is the best my edges have ever been in terms of my
dandruff issues and I have JEBA NATURALS deodorizer to thank.
The monstrosity underneath that beautiful weave. lol!!! |
A few weeks more and i will not be able to tell where my corn rows begin and where they end. |
I love my edges so much that I have left these braids in for
a few more weeks. Thankfully I have a wig cup and so life continues. I need an
intervention!!!! I need to take the braids out one way or the other because am
too comfortable in them lol.
Disappearing braids. lol |
This keeps me presentable during my days until i finally gather courage and pick my self up to un-ravel my corn rows. I need an intervention. |
Part two (2) of my take down process will be posted soon.
if u feeling lazy i could do it for a fee :-) (nii)
